A few weeks ago Team CHICA was invited to experience the hidden gem that is Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel in Centurion and join them in celebrating the Harvest Festival. Before the invite, we had never heard of the hotel but what got me hooked was the “boutique” bit of it. There is something charming about Boutique Hotels so I don’t mind checking them out and we did not regret the visit.
Kleinkaap’s story began in 1920 when the original manor house was built on the farm Clubview by Colonel Frank Dyson who took inspiration from the Cape. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful oak trees in natural free flowing indigenous gardens, and there is something about lush gardens that excites me so being there made me want to host an event and the venue hosts garden weddings and events and they even host outdoor picnic movie nights! Wouldn’t it be fun if we did something like that? Soon as this weather decides to stick to one season though…
Back to Kleinkaap!
The food at the harvest festival was just amazing! Different meats, veggies, salads and every yummy thing you can think of, we really had a great time. Besides the Harvest Festival, which the hotel aims to host at least once a year, they were also launching their new restaurant, The 16th Lintel and its menu.
The restaurant is all about bringing people together and it was interesting to learn that everything about the vibe, decor, ideals and food all revolve around its name “The 16th Lintel”.
The original homestead had a total of 15 support lintels. Keeping true to the Dutch architecture, Mr Malan expanded the building to what Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is today and with that expansion, he added extra lintels. The first lintel added (the 16th one) was the start of a new era. You can read more about the restaurant HERE.
The hotel has 34 Luxury Rooms and they are really beautiful and the pic below is one of the rooms we stayed in.
Cute isn’t it!
A pic I took outside the hotel…

Thank you to Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel and The 16th Lintel for the amazing hospitality, we loved being at the hotel and we are certainly going to come back again for a picnic movie under the stars!
