Oh my word, you ladies SO have to watch the new season of Being Mary Jane, whatever mojo they had lost in the last season, it looks like they sure regained in Season 4.
The show premiered in the US on 10 January and here at home we'll be able to watch Monday, 23 January at 21:30 on BET (129) when America is already on 3 episodes *rolling my eyes* .
When you wake up in South Africa on a Monday morning to check your twitter and are welcomed by Gabrielle Union live tweeting with her fellow Americans, how in the Lawd's name are you supposed to wait 3 weeks to see what they are going crazy about? BET & DSTV really have to come up with a way to get this show on Express from The US. I have resorted to watching online - I just don't have the patience.
Enough about my complaints:
Bathong, Mary Jane is too much guys and I get so annoyed at the bits of me I see in her. Not the fact that she seems to get sex so easily, that's hard for some of us lol, but the other men related stuff. The first 2 episodes of this season were really great, I think you'll enjoy them and there'll be lots for us to talk about afterwards.
So without spoiling it for you - in this new season she has moved to New York, she has a new job at a new Network but also has her sight on a senior role, occupied by Ronda. Now this is where the twist comes in. I will leave you to watch and make your own assessment of her. That Ronda is something alright.
Ronda is played by a familiar face & brilliant actress, Valarie Pettiford & the new MJ love interest we meet in Episode 1 is Lee, a Nigerian British dude with an accent that will melt your heart. He's not really the type of guy I thought MJ would go for but I think that's a big part of why he is in the picture. Episode 2 makes it clear.
The role is played by English actor, Chike Okonkwo and I wish I could say more but I'll stop at "He's charming." Please have a look at the way he and MJ meet and let's talk about whether it's safe to do that in South Africa. We will start the conversation after... I so admire how liberated Mary Jane is.
Oh, and Michael Ealy only comes on in Episode 2 so there is lots to look forward to *wink*
Mary Jane's BFF Kara moved to New York with her, and even though I said BFF, I feel like "sidekick" is a better description - I have a tiny weeny problem with their one-sided friendship. A topic for another day.

I couldnt wait so I downloaded it. I must say I was disappointed with how they just "ignored" what happened in last season's finale! Like really!? It was like Empire with Rhonda's death being ignored. Or maybe they are going to give us flashbacks?
I was also shocked at her behaviour, I was like this again!? Hopefully what that lady said to her will get her to evaluate her life because she is a mess! Hau Lelo, I dont understand when everyone says they have trouble meeting men. You are supposed to have a few guys on standby, not just for sex but as people you can be with and build with.
What happened in the finale ? It was a long time ago. I remember Niecy's attest, which they refer to. I remember MJ seeing David with the kid, what else?

Thanks for the post Lelo. You're right, S3 had no mojo whatsoever. 'Twas such a snooze fest; they were trying to hard to be relevant..social issues etc. We got enough of that in this show called life.
Oh and Mary Jane moved to NYC to join Kara. She got MJ the gig after she got fired. Kara had already started occupying her role as exec- producer.
